PSEUDO
– POLITENESS
(Manners Of
The Modern Age)
Errol Carey
Truth and justice are the corner stones on which any society
must have as a basis for its endurance. Historical, as well
as current events demonstrate the demise of such nations,
and leaders that have disregarded these two quality standards.
In order for man in his experiences to benefit independently
and collectively, his actions must be definitive, as to be
just. Man must also be subject to that which is lawful. On
the other hand, if what is lawful is being redefined by those
who are not morally obligated, what foundation will the corner
stone of wisdom be laid. At present, any day 2005, there are
those among the masses in religion, politics, education, and
law, whose thinking has evolved from their predecessors (the
Pseudo-Polite) to become mainstream political correctness.
What is pseudo–politeness?
A false sympathetic response, aid, support, and/or defense
for a person, cause, or ideology which cannot be defined as
lawful. A new way to excuse imbalance, deviance, and such
as the like at all levels. Pseudo–politeness ask the
question, “Are you one with us in philosophy, values,
position, and thought, lest you be ostracized? Manners of
the modern age, kind and favorable to all who wave the banner
of compromise to truth. It is the sister to mocking. It breathes
out insults to the upright man whom will not yield to lawlessness.
(Not exactly synonymous to “radical liberalism”),
but real close to it, these days.
What is the
root cause of pseudo–politeness?
The answer is, “unaccountability” to truth –
it’s the tax write-off for corruption. For those who
are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of
the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the
things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death,
but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because
the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does
not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able
to do so; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God
(Rom 8:5-8). NAS
This may seem to be an over simplified explanation but we
have seen the modern psychology era take responsibility to
teach us in the 1960’s that our sin is really sickness
or a chemical imbalance. This is old news, but it has evolved
to become the infallible doctrine of society. I’m not
one to deny that many people are sick, but sin is what caused
their addictions. I’m sorry, if that didn’t sound
nice, but now is the time to be a “right guy”,
rather than the “nice guy”.
Reality check - the recidivism rate for the so-called rehabilitated
is evidence of the pseudo–politeness affect. Alcoholism,
drug dependency, and sexual perversion can be treated, but
the sure cure is to forsake sin, repent of it, and have full
dependency on the Lord. Jump off of the party train and jump
on to the freedom train.
“If the Son sets you free – you are free indeed”
These also are sayings of the wise. To show partiality in
judgment is not good. He who says to the wicked, "You
are righteous," peoples will curse him, nations will
abhor him; but to those who rebuke the wicked will be delight,
and a good blessing will come upon them (Prov
24:23-25). NAS
Jesus was always the “right guy”, even when angered,
He was kind. Remember when he chased the money changers from
the Temple (Jn 2:12-23)? His
actions didn’t seem to be nice, people were embarrassed.
Why did he do that? Because it was necessary. It was because
of His love for God the Father, and the House of God (Ps
69:9). Jesus’ love brought those Jews into accountability
whom were violating God’s Law by doing business in the
Court of the Gentiles (non-Jews) in the Temple. They should
have been telling the Gentiles present in the Temple court
about the one true living God. Love will always initiate a
proper response – not an inappropriate or pseudo (false)
one. Jesus’ loving response restored the people and
the place (Temple) to a proper function. How about those harsh
rebukes leveled by Jesus at the Pharisees throughout the four
accounts of the Gospel? Let’s face it, there has to
be a distinction made between our modern definition/perception
of love, in contrast to God’s love. Truth is always
an offense to the lawless, but truth is not to be viewed as
an attitude, rather, it is, “a matter of facts”.
Truth is personified in Christ.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way,
and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but
through Me (Jn 14:6). NAS
Take a ride with me in the time machine, dateline prior to
mid 1970’s. Most talk about “staying black”
was a reference to the fight for equality - staying true to
the cause of civil rights. Even the convicts from Angola Penitentiary
to San Quinton had a more proper perspective on identity and
character in contrast to our “over cool” contemporaries.
The current definition of (staying black): full profanity
vocabulary, major on material items for identity, act like
or become a pimp/prostitute, dress like Bozo (former great
clown), and deny virginity at all cost.
PSUDO – POLITENESS will acknowledge
the latter as being the evolution of the Black Americans,
and celebrate them as a truly liberated art form of the 21st
century.
* If that’s a realistic view or desired status, pass
the suspenders and call me Jubilation. “Thank God for
Black History month” – lest we forget.
How about the Psychology program talk shows on TV and radio.
What do you hear 90% of the time? Theoretical remedies for
family and marriage– not usually of the Biblical sort.
Are you getting those warm fuzzy feelings while listening
to the broadcast, but afterwards, bitterness toward the dearly
beloved prevails.
PSUDO – POLITENESS: All we need
is love - don’t be too concerned about accountability,
just love. I think, I’m supposed to give you a hug,
“right”?
What kind of love is void of justice and mercy? Not God’s
love. True forgiveness can only be experienced in light of
the demand for justice. That’s right! Men and women
are sinners (Ro 3:23). Both have
to repent. That is, to confess (agree with God) concerning
their sin and make restitution. To resolve to do the right
thing brings remedy. Unfortunately, some Christian Psychology
program remedies are based on behavioral science rather than
Scripture, which accurately teaches soul study -the nature
of man.
*“Thank God for Dr. Laura”, wait – I know
what you’re thinking, but let’s face it, she’s
not protecting the guilty for the sake of keeping the listener’s
support ($).
I recently heard a gentleman use the term “collective
irresponsibility” on a radio program, which I thought
would be very appropriate for this article. Collective irresponsibility
has been a common practice on every Continent throughout the
ages. We like to use the Germans under Hitler’s regime
as an example because it relegates collective irresponsibility
to a time past and keeps us at a safe distance from current
evaluation. Today, if you are not affiliated with a particular
political party which promotes “evil rights” not
civil rights, you are considered to be a bigot, or classified
as a racketeer, promoters of hate crimes, those of the dark
ages, Hitler’s youth, and so on. Many American leaders
and educators practice enslaving the minds of its people to
collectively go against the tide of practical righteousness.
To put all that is lawful, out of sight and out of mind. For
instance, a display of the Ten Commandments, the Nativity
scene, the Cross of Christ, and in some instances, the words
“Merry Christmas”.
Why attempt to move a society away from these historical
truths - symbols/images? It is the Pseudo-Polite’s attempt
to attain a state of guiltless consciousness. By no means
does suppressing Biblical symbols rid the society of godly
people. Therefore, their efforts are futile.
What can we gather from the Pseudo-Polite
among us?
On the basis of their doctrine, they are:
1) elite in intelligence. 2) more compassionate
than God. 3) obligated to educate the masses on a global scale.
4) intolerant of those who believe otherwise.
We acknowledge that the Pseudo-Polite have given us the type
of thinking that allows one to sue McDonalds for obesity,
and permit a criminal to sue you if he gets injured while
robbing your house. There is a way which seems right to a
man, but its end is the way of death (Prov
16:25). NAS
Holding back the tide of pseudo–politeness It is the
duty of true believers to know: that though we walk in the
flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons
of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful
for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations
(opinions) and every lofty thing (systems of false philosophy)
raised up against the knowledge of God, and to take every
thought captive (subject it) to the obedience of Christ”
(2 Cor 10:3-5). NAS
The figure here is evidently taken from military conquests.
The idea is, that all the strongholds of paganism, and pride,
and sin would be demolished by the truth of God. In regard
to common sense and all that is decent, realize that no man’s
rule can supersede God’s Law. Christ Jesus has fulfilled
the requirement of the Law, and all men are to be advised
that God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while
we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having
now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the
wrath of God through Him (Rom 5:8-9).
NAS
Are the Psudo-Polite ready to demonstrate
a love greater than God’s love ?
All Pseudo-Polite (P/P) types are not really motivated to
promote aid and correctness, rather, their efforts are motivated
by self-righteousness which result in personal glorification,
air time, position, and big bucks. The needy never benefit
in any way from the (P/P), other than to be given false hopes
of equality. The wayward never benefit other than to have
their conscience scabbed over by the “all is lawful”
philosophy of the (P/P). Both, needy and wayward are simply
tools in the hands of the Pseudo-Polite, used to accomplish
their own objectives. What is love? (See;I
Cor 13:4-8).
Let the simple minded awake – wisdom is calling! Things
constantly change but righteousness should be an enduring
factor.
Prov 1:1-7 1 The proverbs of Solomon
the son of David, king of Israel: 2 To know wisdom and instruction,
To discern the sayings of understanding,3 To receive instruction
in wise behavior, Righteousness, justice and equity; 4 To
give prudence to the naive, To the youth knowledge and discretion,
5 A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man
of understanding will acquire wise counsel, 6 To understand
a proverb and a figure, The words of the wise and their riddles.
7 The fear of the LORD is the
beginning of knowledge;Fools
despise wisdom and instruction. NAS
